Your Dominus is back to declaring some television fit or foul to find out, like a McChicken sandwich, it’s nearly all foul.
Wednesdays have been lame for a while and Summer is for partying, but this economy has put a damper on festive shit, so let’s look at our options.
Fox has So You Think You Can Dance which I put in the category of American Idol - let’s laugh at amateurs trying to go pro and their dreams being crushed. I have trouble interpreting the art that is dance so it just seems contrived to me. “We didn’t see chemistry between you two … sorry, you CAN NOT dance.” What the hell are they looking for?
America’s Got Talent is NBC’s version, but with a variety of “talent”. A dancing show atleast has hot young chicks and fabulously toned gay guys (woman fodder). From what I’ve seen of this, it’s a freak show. Clog dancing Mormon sisters encouraged by David Hasselhoff to shake it and not break it: not sweet.
Wipeout is an adult Double Dare style reality gameshow from ABC. ‘Nuff said. If the average American wasn’t so tubby maybe there’d be more anticipation. Let’s Watch a Frustrated Fat Guy Fall is a more apt title.
CW’s America’s Next Top Model repeat is where I’d normally land. Beautiful girls faced with the stress of not being beautiful enough must appeal to the average woman. The challenges they face are pretty funny. Don’t real models have to deal with figuring out how to get an abortion before the next photo shoot in 6 hours while hung over, hungry and high? If it were the case, I’d be live blogging each episode.
Then, CBS has reruns of the regular shit that gets them high ratings. The Adventures of Old Christine followed by Gary Unmarried are on. I haven’t seen them but ain’t super motivated by the has-been appeal of Seinfeld’s Elaine and Jay Moore.
New series are and have premiered, the foremost to my Geek tastes being Merlin. But, with promotional pics like this:
I’m not very attracted to the series.
